Half of Vasilip's population was wiped out by a germ accidentally created by Gilbert, (TV: The Happiness Patrol [+]Loading...["The Happiness Patrol (TV story)"]) after which the king ordered that he and Seivad be executed on sight. They fled into the mountains where a vigilante brutalised Seivad, whose mind Gilbert was able to save and take to Terra Alpha in a suitcase.
