Though not seen, the Daleks are *present* in the TVM's opening, and their actions are essential to the plot. They're also essential to the story of "Army of Ghosts", since they built and piloted the Void Ship — indeed, they're technically physically present in every scene with the Void Ship in it, which is designed as a great big Dalek bump. (Plus, we list two-parters as such elsewhere in the table, acknowledging each as a single "story"; it'd be weird to split this one.) Tag: 2017 source edit

It opens on a shot of Skaro, for pity's sake! I'm sorry, but this definition is as ambiguous as the old one. Please do not revert this again. You are free to take it to the talk page, of course, though. Tag: 2017 source edit

  • curprev 04:5904:59, 11 May 2021BananaClownMan talk contribs 3,496 bytes −572 I respectfully disagree, but I do see your point about how ambiguous it can be. Whats say we meet in the middle, and have the template focus on stories that one simply can't write the Daleks out off. Like, TFD or TSM work with or without the Daleks, but TUaT or TCotFD can't work if the Daleks were to be written out. Tag: Undo

  • curprev 23:4323:43, 2 May 2021Scrooge MacDuck talk contribs 4,068 bytes +674 As with "what is a companion", the Wiki cannot base policies on something so vague as whether it's merely "with" or "about" the Daleks. For example I'd say the Daleks are pretty central to "TuaT", at least. We could spend forever having these arguments; best to cut the Gordian knot and just say "if it's a TV appearance, it's in".
