Captain Jack Harkness was aware of a "whole new history" that would have sprawled out had the Trickster's Brigade succeeded in changing the future by infecting Franklin Delano Roosevelt with a brainspawn in 1927, which would have eventually led to America destabilising and pulling out of the war in his second term as President of the United States, resulting in the rise of Germany as a triumphant Third Reich. Explaining to Angelo Colasanto that the Trickster's Brigade wished to turn order into chaos and feed off the results, Jack prevented this history from coming into being by intercepting and destroying the brainspawn.
