I believe that when I was listening to the audio version they were referred to as Section Leaders, which would put them in a different class. Arguably they do guard the Emperor from the Humanised Daleks towards the end, however their role in directing the operations of "normal" Daleks seems consistent with them being Section Leaders rather than actual Guards. That said, are there any stills from the story that show black domed Daleks around the Emperor all the time aside from the "normal" Daleks when the Doctor and co. were brought before him? I'm open to having my view changed on this, I was a believer that these Daleks were his personal guard, but now I'm not so sure, thoughts? -- Imperial Emperor - Talk |
