Though the name suggested a peaceful era for Britain, (TV: World War Three) it was actually destined to be a period filled with conflict. (TV: The Christmas Invasion) The term was used by the Ninth Doctor after Jones took charge in the aftermath of a world crisis, following a hostile takeover from the Slitheen family, claiming that Jones would be the architect of this Golden Age, being elected for three successive terms as Prime Minister. (TV: World War Three) The Doctor had high hopes for Harriet's term, but when he discovered a dark side to her rule in his tenth incarnation, he acted swiftly to remove her from power, aborting the era before it came to pass.
