Henry Wilkes was a resident of New York City in the mid 20th century. Formerly a married accountant, he succumbed to alcoholism, lost his wife and job, and became a homeless bum living in the Bowery. In 1965, members of the Latter-Day Pantheon found him and gave him what he thought he wanted — a second chance — by restoring his health and hygiene. However, Henry found he was unable to get a home without a job or money, and resumed drinking. Shortly afterwards, the Pantheon found him again and gave him what he actually wanted: death.
