While the idea for the book was still in Crichton's subconscious, Dracksil Forg psychically and unknowingly took the idea to sell in his own shop. Crichton eventually wrote the book, which the Twelfth Doctor used to prove to Dracksil that his ideas were stolen, commenting that "the science is all wrong but [it was] a best-seller."
