Sea Venture was a piece of literature by Strachey published in the early 16th century. Playwright William Shakespeare sought to "cash-in" on Sea Venture with a shipwreck story, eventually resulting in The Tempest, though he reminded himself in his notes to make sure Thomas Middleton wasn't already doing something similar.
