The 26th issue of Doctor Who Magazine was published on 9 April 1980. It was the first issue to see a major design change to the magazine.

- Inside pages are numbered and a contents page is shared with 'A letter from the Doctor'.
- More regular 'filling' features include a page of Fantastic Facts and a UNIT Club Page which readers are encouraged to sign-up for by becoming UNIT members.
- The regular archive feature is replaced by new fiction.
- Published every Thursday, this issue had a cover price of 12p (UK).
