{{Infobox Magazine/doc}} is the primary template on this wiki for magazines. Typically, it's used for "proper" magazines and not American-style comic books, which tend to use {{Infobox Story}}. {{Infobox Magazine |name = |image = Image of magazine cover |caption = caption for image 1 (do not use unless absolutely necessary for clarity) |image2 = Image of alternate magazine cover |caption2 = caption for image 2 (do not use unless absolutely necessary for clarity) |cover date = Cover date of magazine (Do not put a mere "release" date here. In publishing nomenclature, a "cover date" is equivalent to an indicia date, though.) |format = Number of pages and style of binding |editor = Editor of magazine |publisher = Publisher of magazine |prev override = Generally, navigation happens automatically. However, if you're dealing with a magazine range that does not number its issues sequentially, you'll need to use the variables {{{prev override}}} and {{{next override}}}. |next override = Both are free-form variables that allow you to enter whatever text you choose. Do not override unless it's absolutely necessary. In other words, don't override just to put a fiddly little technical note in. Override only when there's no other way to properly link to the prev/next issue.

Usage

Copy and paste all of the text below onto whichever article page it is needed for (even if some fields are not needed copy all of the text).

• As of March 2012, this template has no {{{name}}} variable. The title of the infobox is automatically controlled by the template and cannot be overriden. It is always equal to the name of the page for this particular infobox.
• Because T:MAGS standardised the naming of magazine issues in a mathematically useful way, {{{previous issue}}} and {{{next issue}}} can now be calculated automatically. In those rare cases, as with DWMS, when issues are not numbered, you must now use {{{prev override}}} and {{{next override}}} to, well, override the automatic links to the surrounding issues.
• This template's navigation section will always consider an "issue 0" an impossibility. In the unlikely event of an actual issue 0, you'll have to use {{{prev override}}} to create a link to it.
