Treasure Trail was a 1976 Fourth Doctor/Sarah Jane TV Comic story that was a pure historical set in the waning days of World War II in a northern Italian village. Although many other Doctor Who stories were set during the Second World War, Treasure Trail was unusual for portraying the Italian resistance, and was almost certainly the only Doctor Who story in any medium to depict the Nazi plunder of European art.
