Driver Joe worked alongside [[Mechanic Claude]] and the [[Hostess]] on board of the shuttle bus Crusader 50. When [[The Doctor]] entered the cockpit after the vehicle stopped, he convinced Joe and Claude to lift the shield for a moment to see what [[Midnight]] looked like, so they opened the shields to look outside. As the radiation went up to a lethal level, Joe decided to shut them down again.
