Weeping Angels aren't 'Classic' monsters. Though I haven't heard or read Moffat saying no more Classics aren't returning. What source is used for this? Chiroptera Rex 20:25, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
In an interview in Doctor Who Magazine 417, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan talk about the "Scary" monster in episode one describing it as a "Face Tendril" and being used as a tennis ball on a stick in scenes, expressing them having to act scared with nothing scary there. This could mean the monster in episode one is computer generated.
This could also mean that the Monster, Villain and/or Alien that will be in Finale will be new and won't be an old enemy which probably rules out: | This could also mean that the Monster, Villain and/or Alien that will be in Finale will be new and won't be an old enemy which probably rules out:

You can not have Doctor Who without the Daleks. And I think that the cybermen are game too since that are not classic monsters in the new series sense. As for classic main villains returning, people have been saying the Rani will return for five years now. Each year they say it, and it never happens. I'm sick of hearing it. 17:11, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
I had/have a feeling that The Rani was the blond with the gun, but i highly doubt its her, its a gut thing. Well said Delton Menace. People need to get over they will never return and/or maybe not for a long time............. -- Michael Downey 20:48, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Micael Downey. :) I wouldn't say never, though. Like you say, not for a while, but one day, they may return. But in no way are any of them the Doctor's companions. I did hear several Sally Sparrow = the Rani theories a while ago, and others thought she was Romana. Those two Time Ladies never get a break- people think they're everyone to appear in the latest series. There are villains I believe will return one day, but I base it either on their nature (they're hard to kill, and may want revenge), or if there are strange things that hint their return.
Still, I want the Rani back, but I don't see it happening any time soon. Maybe Amy Pond is the Rani in disguise! No, just no. Sorry, I'm just annoyed at how many people think so-and-so is a certain old character. Delton Menace 20:57, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
True Delton, my comment was purely a gut reaction by the way she was shown in the trailer, but now i realize that she probably is a rich woman who is tracking the doctor. but she falls into the tardis. HMM? Another companion? Geffe71 21:13, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
Geffe in answer to your question the blondey-ginger girl with the gun is River Song clearly sorry to destroy your dreams lol -- Michael Downey 21:15, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
The one it the black dress with sunglasses? That is not Alex Kingston, I do not believe. Geffe71 21:24, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
I saw filming picture of River Song in series 5 a while ago, and she was wearing a full black dress... but I don't quite remember her hairstyle in the pictures. I think she was, I mean. *goes to search for the pictures* She was also walking along the coast with black high-heel in her hand. o_O Delton Menace 21:59, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not saying that they will appear, but it's entirely possible that one or two Time Lords managed to sneak back to Earth just BEFORE the Doctor sent them back to the Time War. Add the fact that there was a Blue Peter contest to draw "a TARDIS console", it's very possible that at least ONE Time Lord could be back. Adlerj
I keep hearing supposed spoilers that the Time Lords are returning again, I admit that... Delton Menace 22:52, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
Geffe it is clearly River Song. Pause the trailer and look. If you still think its not her then I'm sorry but you need your eyes testing, you can still see her eyes though them sunglasses and their definitely rivers eyes. -- Michael Downey 02:00, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
AND she's even got the same little wart thing on the bottom of her neck that river song has so... -- Michael Downey 02:01, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
I guess my post that said i was wrong didnt go through. however you dont need to be rude. Geffe71 02:07, January 8, 2010 (UTC) it did go through, someone deleted it.
I'm sorry but I wasn't being rude I was just stating the obvious :D -- Michael Downey 02:10, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
It is the sunglasses and different hairstyle that make it awkward to tell, really. But yeah, seen her photo without the sunglasses, and that is most certainly Alex Kingston, who plays River Song. She was filming with Matt smith in the picture. Delton Menace 08:51, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Where did Steven Moffat mention the Timoreen, Skraskish and Ha'rik in DWM 417? I can't find the quote anywhere... Jim393 19:48, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Timoreen = Raxicoricofallapatorian? 86.178.5.146 20:18, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
How????? I extremely highly doubt this with it being RTD's creation and now its Steven Moffats clean slate. -- Michael Downey 20:22, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
The name is suggestive, however. All Raxicos have 'een' in their names, it seems. Delton Menace 20:26, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
I am annoyed tht SM is not bringing back any old series monsters when I would like to see the Cheetah People or something like that. But I would like to see the Rani back maybe as Kate O'Mara, face it she has had lots of plastic surgery she could look young. --Catkind121 21:37, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
I have news on the Weeping Angels front. In the latest DWM, Steven Moffat says the Weeping Angels we saw in Blink are just exiles with barely any power. He goes on to say "do you think you're safe, just because you don't blink?"--Thetwelfthdoctor, 9/1/10, 19:52
@ Delton Menace: It would explain the whole yellow monster that Van Gogh stabs, too.--Thetwelfthdoctor, 9/1/10, 19:55

I got nervous when you said that about the Weeping Angels. I always found quit esomewhat terrifying, but for you to mentioned that they were only exiles. I rthink Moffat is saying the Weeping Angels in series 5 are much more to be afraid of, that not even not blinking will keep you safe.
As for the yellow monster, you only thing that I can imagine is it being a Rax because they have so far been seen in green and orange, and there is mentioned of a very Raxo-sounding name in series 5. Tomoreen = the yallow monster.
I hope they don't know computer generated enemies because I prefer physical enemies, and apparantanly the BBC is cutting the drama budget, so there can't be as many effects used throughout the whole series. Considering they need the effects for spaceships or whatever, they wouldn't be able to do much with a CGI monster. But luckily, Moffat doesn't use effects every often or doesn't use much of them because he has other ways of doing things. Blink was stop-motion, and Silence in The Libraray/Forest of te Dead was moving shadows, which wouldn't cost much. Delton Menace 01:24, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
What happend to good old model (ala original star wars) i saw a behind the scenes video showing model vs. final product and i could barely tell it was a model. Geffe71 02:06, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Regarding the draw a TARDIS console thing, much as I'd love to see the return of more Time Lords, isn't it more likely that its something to do with the damage sustained to it at the end of The End of Time? --Terahurts 17:09, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Regarding the yellow monster, didn't Paul Cornell once try to write a novel with Van Gogh getting involved in the King in Yellow (including the connection to Hastur that August Derleth added later), but couldn't get the rights because August Derleth still owned them for a few more years? Since the classic series borrowed plenty of Lovecraft stuff, there's no reason the new series couldn't do the same. --99.8.229.156 10:18, January 12, 2010 (UTC) |
