I just finished watching Earthshock a few days ago, and I noticed that the freighter did not crash into Earth like it says on the Tardisdex. In the tv episode, Adric detonated the bomb in space, causing the ship to explode '''in space'''. You could even see Adric detonating the bomb.

My recollection is that the ship '''did''' explode in space but that Adric '''didn't''' detonate the bomb -- he merely failed to prevent it going off. --[[Special:Contributions/78.146.176.247|78.146.176.247]][[User talk:78.146.176.247#top|talk to me]] 21:43, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

I just finished watching Earthshock a few days ago, and I noticed that the freighter did not crash into Earth like it says on the Tardisdex. In the tv episode, Adric detonated the bomb in space, causing the ship to explode in space. You could even see Adric detonating the bomb.

I am slightly confused. Why does the tardisdex say that the freighter crashed, when it is clear (to me, at least) that it did not crash?

I just want to make sure I have the correct information before I go edit the article Adric.

Has anyone else watched the episode and noticed this? Chericola talk to me 10:18, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

You probably should have posted this question in the Reference Desk or the Panopticon instead of here. Anyway, you've clearly seen the episode more recently than me, so if you're sure that the ship detonated in orbit than make the change, and if you're wrong than somebody will change it back. All I remember was that the ship was loaded with Cyberbombs and was heading for Earth, and Adric stayed behind to make some kind of calculation to stop it before realizing he was too late. What reason did Adric have for detonating the bomb in space instead of just waiting for it to crash land? Unfortuanetly, I don't have the episode available to check, but if you just watched it a few days ago, then you're probably right.Icecreamdif talk to me 10:36, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

Well, the Earth would of been blown to smithereens if he had let the ship crash. There would have been no Earth, and the human race would not have existed. But then again, the Fifth Doctor did say that the freighter was what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, and that Earth would survive the explosion. But I still think that the ship exploded in space. :) Chericola talk to me 00:20, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
