{{dau}} stands for dab away unlinked. It is in every way like {{dab away}}, except that it produces a raw, unlinked version of the title. This is especially useful in template programming as there are times when you want just a raw title.
Usage: {{dau|Castrovalva (TV story)}}, or more usually, {{dau|{{{variable}}}}}
This template is heavily used in the programming of SMW tables.
