When it's a painting, 'The Mona Lisa' is the title of a work of art. Titles are italicized. When it's alive, it's the name of a living thing. Names are, with some exceptions (ship's names) not italicized. As living paintings are unique to this show (except for ''tableaux vivante''), there is noreason on that account to italicize. | |||

As for part of the story SJA: Mona Lisa's Revenge the paintings are living things, should that make them italicised or not while "mobile"? -- Tybort (talk page) 23:28, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

When it's a painting, 'The Mona Lisa' is the title of a work of art. Titles are italicized. When it's alive, it's the name of a living thing. Names are, with some exceptions (ship's names) not italicized. As living paintings are unique to this show (except for tableaux vivante), there is noreason on that account to italicize.
