Karna was the Director of a company who were looking to create "the Beautiful People", people who were healthy, fit and very thin. She herself was considerably thin and had an orange taint to her skin. Her efforts to create "the Beautiful People" became a little too much that she was practically using machines to drain the fat from people's bodies.
