Private Jim Higson was a soldier who travelled to India along with his Captain, Hertford. After being bitten by an animal, he had to bring the Captain back to England. Protecting the Captain with his life, he was bitten in the end and was about to turn into an animal himself, when Jago shot him under his orders. He returned to his human form after being shot in the head. (JAL: The Bloodless Soldier)
