Sometimes I get confused when reading this wiki.  I see the prefix, "(DW)" but I'm not sure if it's the new ones or the old ones. Can we make separate prefixes for the new and old shows?

The points at which these shows are differentiated are inherently arbitrary. It seems a little odd to hold that the BBC 1963-89 show, Fox Television Networks and BBC Wales are all the same show, but not Torchwood when it was run out of BBC Wales by Russell Davies while he was running Doctor Who and SJA... well, there is a certain arbitrariness. No matter where you put them. It would be equally rational to divide shows by incarnations of the Doctor, or by the Producer or even the Script Editor, who was in charge of maintaining continuity in the days when Terry Dicks noted that when he was Script editor, continuity was what he could remember and when the next guy took over, it was what the new guy could remember.
Nonetheless, it is the position of this WIKI that the BBC WHO, the TV Movie and the BBC Wales WHO are all the same show, while Torchwood and SJA are not, despite the many crossovers. Different codes would encourage different viewpoints and make things even more bloody.[[User:Boblipton|Boblipton]] [[User talk:Boblipton|talk to me]] 03:38, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

No, they're both the same show. That would be just as bad as making different prefixes to seperate 60s stories from 80s stories. All you have to do to find out if its a new or an old story is to click on the link to the story page, and it should become obvious pretty quickly.Icecreamdif talk to me 23:38, April 20, 2012 (UTC)
Before just saying "no" and shutting down the discussion, I'd like to know why the original poster thinks it would be advantageous to know whether the story comes from old or new televised DW.

Different codes would encourage different viewpoints and make things even more bloody.Boblipton talk to me 03:38, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
