Hi,

I was just wondering if, with the release of the new DWM, Rory's surname is now officially established as Pond? I know the Doctor referenced this in "The Big Bang" but at that point, it was never established whether or not this was the case.

Thanks,

Strople

What in DWM are you saying establishes this surname as more than a joke?

On the latest cover of DWM, it states:

Back on TV! Amy Pond; The Doctor; River Song; Rory Pond

I was just wondering if this establishes that his surname has indeed been changed or if it will need to be confirmed elsewhere.

We should wait the three days (when the Magazine is released) to see if any more is said of this. It might just be a joke that the magazine editors liked as well and included on the cover. If the magazine doesn't confirm nor deny the detail, then we could maybe add it to Rory's page as background info that he might've changed his name for realz. Once it's revealed either way in an actual future story (TV episode, comic, book, adventure game) then we can take appropriate action. It'll probably come up soon with the Doctor's penchant for last names ("Come along, Pond" and such).--Tim Thomason 04:32, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Why should we wait for the magazine to be released? There should be no way we chnage a page just because a magazine said something. What we should do is wait until The Impossible Astronaut airs, and see what is said then, if nothing is stated, we wait till an episode says something. No way should we change what an episodes has previous stated (i.e Williams as his last name) just because a magazine said something different. It could have easily been a mistake or a joke. If we changed something everytime a magazine said something different, would we have changed DWM to 'Bad Wold Magazine?' No. Leave it as it is until an episode says something.
