When adding information to pages such as William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton please cite your sources. I can see that some of it is lifted from the wikipedia pages, however on the wikipedia Troughton page it states "Reportedly, he also advised a later Doctor actor, Peter Davison, to limit his time in the role to three seasons to avoid being typecast and the young actor followed that advice.". The difference is the word reportedly, which makes the wikipedia page less correct it allows them to state it, but it doesn't necessarily make it true. The information on our article page (with your edits) doesn't make this distinction, the implication with the statement is that it is fact. --Tangerineduel 14:05, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

Section headings

Please do not remove the section headings from within articles as it messes with the layout of the articles. (That is removing for example the === around the Part/Episode section headings) --Tangerineduel 14:36, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

This is a warning, please do not remove the section headings from story articles. This action is viewed as unhelpful content and vandalism, further actions may result in you being blocked from editing on this wiki from upwards of 3 days. --Tangerineduel 14:57, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Plot

Hi. Please see Tardis:Format for Television Story Entries with regards to what a plot should contain. It must be longer and more descriptive than the synopsis. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:57, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Please do not add plot entries that are a sentence long, a plot needs to contain more information than the Synopsis. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:42, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Citing your sources
