Featured characters?
The publicity for the show (and the title sequence) has made it pretty clear that Bill Pullman as Oswald Danes is one of the important characters of the show - even though at present he seems to be set up more as an antagonist than a future Torchwood member.  Should he be added to the featured characters in the infobox?

(Also, "Anwen Williams" as featured? Really? I'm sure she'll pop up again in the rest of the series, but she's a baby.)  --69.81.113.177 01:44, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

:Well, "featured" doesn't mean "Torchwood member".  It just means "featured'.  Pullman is on the list, I'd argue, because his name is in the title sequence.  And I advanced the notion of Anwen Williams for this episode because the character is featured.  She's in almost every scene with Gwen.  I don't mind that someone's taken her out of the infobox, but my logic was that she had, I think, more screen time than Bill Pullman. 23:29:13 Mon&nbsp;18 Jul 2011&nbsp;</span>

K vs. W error
I wouldn't call this an error, as it's not a hard and fast rule. For example the TV and radio station KYW is based in Philadelphia and doesn't follow the usual logic either.
:It actually is a hard and fast rule.  There's not a single TV station in KY that starts with K.  See wikipedia:List of television stations in Kentucky.  KYW is very much an exception, because that station is one of the oldest in the country, and predates and is outside of the K/W rule.  (Three-letter call signs are all exceptions, because they're all four-letter now.)  The few other exceptions — and we're talking a true few — all can ultimately be traced to an historical loophole in the rule.  If you tried to start a new station today, you'd absolutely be bound by the W/K split. 23:14:31 Mon&nbsp;18 Jul 2011&nbsp;</span>

Myths addition
On quite a few forums there was speculation that Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was going to make a cameo in Miracle Day, based on one of the TV newscasters seen during the "Miracle Day, Miracle Day, Miracle Day" montage in the trailer looking and sounding like him (but his full face not being seen). In New World we do see the man's face in full, and it's clearly not him (plus we'd have heard earlier if he was making an appearance). Still, it's a legit myth so should probably be added. == CIA ==

Why are the CIA listed as an enemy? The CIA didn't work against Torchwood until Rendition, and in this episode half of the main characters work for the CIA. The enemies in this episode are the people who blew up the CIA archive building, and the people who attacked Gwen's house. ==Question==

The article states "Gwen is said to have joined Torchwood in October 2006, the month that the first episode of Torchwood aired. However, it was actually 2007, as Gwen joined Torchwood a year after the Doctor accidentally brought Rose Tyler to 2006 instead of 2005. (TW: Everything Changes, DW: Aliens of London)"

Is this actually proven true? I mean Jack has bounced around in time so much, that this Jack can in fact be in 2006 before the other mortal Jack ever meets the Doctor. In fact I believe it was mentioned somewherw that during the events of DW:Boom Town, the Jack working at Torchwood Three had to make sure not to run into the Jack with the Doctor and Rose.

So, Gwen can still join TW in 2006.
--Future Companion

* Gwen started at Torchwood the fall before Jack left with the Doctor and Martha, which was in 2008.  Thus, Gwen would have joined in 2007.  However, the episode here states 2006.  Thus, the conflict. Rules for Editing With US Airdatesedit source

This page remains locked for editing, presumably because the episode has yet to air in the UK. However, it has already aired in the US. This does present a new situation here, as I believe this marks the first time that an episode in the Doctor Who universe has aired in America before it aired in England. And the US is ahead of the UK on this by a few days, not a few hours.

So, my question on this is, do pages for all episodes have to remain locked until they air in the UK? If so, what's the rationale for that?

I'd say that's a very good question. - Byfield 06:32, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, guys: I would've thought the protection would've been initially set to end automatically at 11pm EDT on July 8. It was instead set to expire on July 29 for some bizarre reason. So, I just took off all edit protection manually. Sorry for the few hours' delay. Policy is that edit protection ends on each episode at 11pm EDT on the Friday that episode ends. As is clearly laid out in the first paragraph of tardis:spoiler policy, the country of first publication is used to determine our protection settings. So, with K9 it's Australia (or was it Poland? Or Sweden? I forget now), DW it's (usually) the UK, and Torchwood it's now the US.

Series 1: 2006 or 2007?edit source

There's a reference where Esther mentions Gwen joining Torchwood in October 2006, yet the Everything Changes page states that Torchwood is set in 2007. We'll need to clear this up. 2.103.123.43 12:06, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

Featured characters?edit source

The publicity for the show (and the title sequence) has made it pretty clear that Bill Pullman as Oswald Danes is one of the important characters of the show - even though at present he seems to be set up more as an antagonist than a future Torchwood member. Should he be added to the featured characters in the infobox?

Well, "featured" doesn't mean "Torchwood member".

K vs. W erroredit source

I wouldn't call this an error, as it's not a hard and fast rule. For example the TV and radio station KYW is based in Philadelphia and doesn't follow the usual logic either.

It actually is a hard and fast rule.
