The Second Doctor and Jamie McCrimmon pause before entering the Inventions International building (COMIC: Martha the Mechanical Housemaid)

Inventions International Company was a giant American firm, seemingly based in New York City, with whom the Second Doctor and Jamie McCrimmon had dealings in 1971.

Wishing to improve the quality of life for humans, the Doctor created Martha — a robot that simplified housecleaning. Wishing wide distribution of the time-saving device, he took it to IIC for manufacture. The company's managing director, C. G. Slattery, was immediately intrigued by the opportunities this robot offered. Within weeks, IIC had gotten Marthas into homes across the United States. After millions of Marthas were installed, however, the Quarks took them over and used them to attempt a takeover of the Earth.

After the crisis was over, the Slattery held a televised rally on IIC grounds where he proclaimed the Doctor a global hero, and flew a banner suggesting that the Doctor should run for President of the United States. (COMIC: Martha the Mechanical Housemaid)
