:::I'm a little confused by this discussion. Are people arguing there shouldn't be links between episode title names in the Hartnell era and the story name that has since come to be accepted? Cause I gotta say there are indeed people who think of The Edge of Destruction Marco Polo (TV story) and especially An Unearthly Child by the title of one of the other episodes that comprise the serial. Ya gotta remember, there's not a real BBC-imposed serial title until The Savages. I definitely think there might be some utility to having pages like An Unearthly Child (episode) or The Web Planet (episode), both of which could support a decent amount of information. I'm a little bothered by (what seems to be) a consensus above which wants to just forget about episode titles in the Hartnell era. If anything, an encyclopedic reference like this should preserve the fact of these episode titles in every way possible. The original design of the series was not to have serial titles, something of course revived by RTD. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 10:26, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

: I think that while the individual episodes should have links they should link to the plot section of the Serial article. In More developed serial pages the plot is divided up into episodes and therefor can be individually titled Dark Lord Xander 10:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

IndexPanopticon → Individual episode links
Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

On many of the pages theri are links to the named episodes of the Hartnell and troghton period, are these needed as the article covers the entire plot so the idividual articles who be of no use in my opinion. Thanks--Skittles the hog 17:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

not in my opinion, no. or rather, entries for individual entries could exist, which would re-direct to the story. or, in some cases, to disambiguation pages, as for the Hartnell episodes "Inferno" and "Invasion". --Stardizzy? 19:13, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
No they shouldn't, occasionally (where they exist) they're carry overs from a wikiepedia transfer. Alternatively where they exist they link within the page up to the Plot area of the page (which is only the case when there's a very detailed Plot description). --Tangerineduel 01:42, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't think we need to have them as separate articles. Most of them are already redirects, and if there are any ones that are not they should be made redirects. Not many people know all the episode names, so it is unlikely that someone will search for Inferno when they want The Romans or The Daleks when they want The Daleks Invasion of Earth. I'm a little confused by this discussion. CzechOut | 10:26, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
I think that while the individual episodes should have links they should link to the plot section of the Serial article. In More developed serial pages the plot is divided up into episodes and therefor can be individually titled Dark Lord Xander 10:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
