Moreton Harwood was the small village in Gloucestershire, where Sarah Jane Smith's aunt Lavinia bought a manor house and moved from South Croydon, in 1979. Along with her furnishings, Lavinia took a crate that had been delivered for Sarah Jane the previous year. Unbeknownst to Lavinia, the crate contained K-9 Mark III. Sarah Jane's foster brother, Brendan Richards nominally resided with Lavinia but boarded at Wellington College during the academic year; he wanted to attend the local comprehensive school in Moreton Harwood. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
Sarah Jane visited Lavinia's and Brandon's house for Christmas 1981, but Lavinia had set off early for her lecture tour in America. Sarah Jane received K-9 at that time. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)

Moreton Harwood was located along a rail line and had a passenger station. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend) The village's distance from Leadworth, also in Gloucestershire, is unknown. (TV: The Eleventh Hour). The village was roughly 60-66 road miles northeast of Cardiff and Torchwood Three.[1]
