Karan was a traffic co-ordinator on Raghi. He had been keeping an eye on an unusual asteroid, and with Turlough's help, determined it was actually a large derelict spacecraft. It was part of a trap being laid for the Rutans by the Sontarans. Made aware of Karan and Turlough's discovery by the mind-controlled Jahangir, two Sontaran soldiers were sent to deal with them. They killed Karan, but Turlough managed to escape. (PROSE: Lords of the Storm)
