The Freedom Corporation was set up by the Master in 1936 as part of a plan to get out of jail if he was ever caught and imprisoned on Earth.
He hypnotised hundreds of people to act as a distraction when he escaped from prison. At the same time, he used the corporation to claim to make a time machine, the Freedom 1b. The Freedom 1b was used to transport the Third Doctor and Jo Grant to the Construct, trapping them there. While Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart negotiated for their return, the Master returned to the corporation and activated the Freedom 1b for the second part of the plan, reversing time for the whole world. The Doctor eventually escaped the Construct and returned to the Freedom Corporation to repair the damage. (PROSE: Freedom)
