Revision as of 19:22, 25 November 2012
The details about the attempt conversion of Craig Owen should be moved into the Cybus portion of the article, since the crashed ship had absolutely nothing to do with Mondasian Cybermen whatsoever. The Cybermen featured in this episode were identical to the ones from The Pandorica Opens (and clearly use a similar form of conversion; note the "hot metal" effect of the splitting seam down the front of the helmet as it opens/closes in both situations), and more or less identical to the Pete's World ones (C logo on the chestplate replaced with a simple circle, and in every appearance having emotional inhibitor chips which cause the heads to explode upon deactivation.)
Tbh, suggesting that ANY Cybermen other than ones resembling the rather ridiculous looking handlebar-heads of the old series "Mondasian" is pretty insane. Not to mention we KNOW what they canonically look like in the new series as one appeared - albeit decapitated and probably an empty shell - in the Ninth Doctor's "Dalek" episode. 87.194.93.98talk to me 17:57, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
- First off, ridiculous? Really? Try to convince me of your opinion, and the best way is to always directly insult mine. Second off, this has been done an done and done. The Cybermen of the latest episodes were meant to be Mondasian by the creators, as per The Brilliant Book 2012, and we have decided as a wiki that they should be so. The Cybus cybermen have always had a way that they reached our universe, and in these last two episodes they have had none, and the lack of "C" on their logo makes it clear that they are not Cybus. As well, COMIC: Assimilation2 clearly identifies post-Pandorica Cybermen as Mondasian.
- Your description of Mondasian Cybermen has also made it very clear that you have never watched a single episode of the classic series. And say what you want about the Mondas Cybermen and how "rediculous" they look, but at least they weren't as boring and contrived as the Cybus cybermen. - I have seen the original series, and I found the Mondasian Cybermen to be highly stereotypical "sci-fi" baddies of the black and white era. The Cybus version is far, far more realistic.
- Oh, and Assimilation states they're Mondasian does it? Interesting, considering how they've got a dirty great big C on their chests; YOUR explanation for why they're NOT Cybus. Oh, same type of ships that the 12th Cyber Legion were shown to be using in A Good Man Goes to War, as well. Ships that were piloted by C-less Cybermen. Seems pretty obvious to me that they just changed their chestplate design at some undisclosed point in the future.
- And, in case you're STILL planning on some sort of comeback, here's some evidence of that: http://i.imgur.com/ulvdK.jpg, aaaaaand... http://i.imgur.com/itOwY.jpg
- That is, of course, that you accept Assimilation as canon... but you brought it up. Incidentally, the Brilliant Book 2012 is NOT canon, as has been stated in various places throughout this wiki. 87.194.93.98talk to me 19:22, November 25, 2012 (UTC)
