David Hasselhoff was an American television actor. He had success as a pop music singer in Europe. In this capacity, he performed at the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Tenth Doctor once remarked he had gone twice to the event to avoid Hasselhoff's singing. (PROSE: Autonomy)

The Doctor's comments related to the real life song, "Looking for Freedom", which was a number one hit in Germany at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
