The Mechanistrians (or Wise Ones) were the upper-class leaders of the Korads.
The Mechanistrians had more privileges than the lower Korads, being able to use weapons and having finer clothing. They would also have the privilege of having their brain removed and used to control the machinery on their planet. (PROSE: Peril in Mechanistria)
