The Velvet Dark was the eighth short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Farewells. It was written by Stewart Sheargold. It featured the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough.
Summary
The Doctor, Tegan and Turlough are invited to the funeral of the Master. Could it be true? Has one of the Doctor's greatest enemies ended his days in an ordinary nursing home on Earth? The Doctor thinks otherwise... The Master is lurking in the darkness, along with a new ally who proves more than a match for him. The Doctor must gain the trust of the Master's faithful nurse, Laura, to defeat his enemy, whilst Turlough finds himself a pawn in the endless fued between the two Time Lords.
