IndexPanopticon → Influences Section on Story Pages
Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

Having read Freethinker's notes about the 'Influences' secton of the Story pages on the Edge of Destruction discussion page, it did make me wonder if we should be a bit more careful about what is listed here. Like the now abandoned Quotes section, Influences can be down to personal judgement rather than have any basis in fact. I think the rule of thumb for this wiki is that if it isn't based in fact, it shouldn't be here. So, with this in mind, unless an influence is absolutely blatant (eg 'Frankenstein' and The Brain of Morbius or has been stated by an author or director (eg Terrance Dicks saying that Robot was partly inspired by 'King Kong'), then we should avoid siting influences that are based purely on our own assumptions. Either that or we change the section heading to 'Possible Influences'. Even then, I think we are drifiting away from the encylopedia of facts function of this wiki. --Mantrid 07:14, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps the 'Influences" section should be abandoned, with known influences being included in the general story notes.

I'd certainly be in favour of that.
