Vacuum Packed was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2011.

Summary

Deep in Antarctica, a 1950s ambulance trapped in the ice is about to be recovered. The Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams arrive too late to stop them opening the back doors. From the ambulance emerges a huge creature of fire, a Shard determined to exact revenge on the Doctor who imprisoned him and then destroy worlds.

While Rory tries to explain to the expedition that they are time travellers, the Doctor leads the expedition back to the snow track and to base, where he knows they have a decompression tank. With just enough time to get suited up, the creature arrives and is lured into the tank by a gloating Doctor. Amy and Rory close the doors. The Doctor escapes and uses his sonic screwdriver to start maximum decompression. With the oxygen vented to zero, the Shard creature cannot burn and is extinguished forever.
