Goth was the bleak planet of the Deathsmiths. It held their weapons cache. It included their ultimate weapon, the Apocalypse Device. Long after the Deathsmiths themselves seemed to have departed, a squad of Cybermen landed there. After the Apocalypse Device had, in effect, dispatched them (the Cyber-Leader of the squad, Maxel, destroying himself rather than re-locating the device off-world), a group of Sontarans arrived.
