:Okay, Pack Animals has Tosh correcting "pterodactyl" as "pteranodon". The word pteranodon is then used for the remainder of the novel. This seems like the "proper" name for the species in the DWU. No sign of pterosaur yet.<br>--SOTO ☎ 11:54, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Pterosaur?

The article currently states that "pterosaurs" were "often erroneously referred to as pterodactyls". This was originally introduced by Azes13 in this diff. The article then proceeds to call the species "pterosaur" for the remainder of the article. While this is true in the real world, I very much doubt that it is such in the DWU. They are most certainly not named such in any of their television appearances; in fact, they are specifically called "pterodactyls" by authorities such as the Doctor, Jack Harkness or a government sign in all of those appearances. Can someone check the comic and prose appearances before I purge this untrue name from the page?

Okay, Pack Animals has Tosh correcting "pterodactyl" as "pteranodon". The word pteranodon is then used for the remainder of the novel. This seems like the "proper" name for the species in the DWU. No sign of pterosaur yet.
