== Polls ==
We don't use polls here except for special events, and they are only started by admin or Wikia Staff. We don't have blogs, by community discussion, so there's not really a space where an individual user could start polls.  Polls are essentially forbidden on the forums, too, since [[T:FORUM|forums are here are a place to figure out how to make the wiki better]], not solicit opinions about ''Doctor Who''. 
We have run some polls before on our front page, and those results are kept at the [[Tardis:poll archive|poll archive]], but it's unlikely polls will return there any time soon.

Hi :) Welcome to the wiki and thanks for your question. The reason that we choose a specific "stripe" of English is because we have people from all over the globe using our site, and we need to work to a common standard. Otherwise, you might use "color", while I would use "colour", and the wiki would look just a bit shabby.

I assume you don't speak British English, but then neither do I. It's easy to get up to speed, though — and to use your computer to help you spell things the right way. We have a whole section of the Tardis Manual dedicated to using British English, so just click through to T:BRENG and read the several help files that are in that chapter of our manual of style.
