Dave Oswald was the widower of Ellie Oswald and the father of Clara Oswald. He first met Ellie in 1981, after a leaf hit his face and she saved him from being run over by a car. They fell in love, married, and had a baby called Clara. They lived together until Ellie's death on 5 March 2005. He comforted Clara at the funeral. (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)
