Veganite was a blue mineral found on the planet Vega VI. This substance was mined for use as a power source for Project Infinity. Only a meager amount was collected before the Daleks invaded Vega VI and enslaved the population, stripping the world of the mineral. With a vastly larger amount of Veganite, the Daleks were able to open a dimensional rift, scan the various dimensions for the one they wanted where the Daleks had total control, and even bring a battalion of Daleks from that particular dimension.
