A gravatronic [[tractor beam]] is used to capture the [[TARDIS]], but instead of locking onto the [[Fourth Doctor]], [[K9 Mark II|K9]] is kidnapped instead. [[Firandel]] and [[Rolgot]] are behind the botched kidnap (for the [[Sontaran]]s). K9 realises their intention to kidnap and kill the Doctor because of the lack of air on his expected arrival and overpowers his 'hosts' before the Doctor and the TARDIS arrive in safety to collect him.

K-9's Finest Hour was a comic story printed in Doctor Who Weekly issue 12. It was written by Steve Moore. It featured the Fourth Doctor and K9 Mark II.

Summary

A gravatronic tractor beam is used to capture the TARDIS, but instead of locking onto the Fourth Doctor, K9 is kidnapped instead. Firandel and Rolgot are behind the botched kidnap (for the Sontarans). K9 realises their intention to kidnap and kill the Doctor because of the lack of air on his expected arrival and overpowers his 'hosts' before the Doctor and the TARDIS arrive in safety to collect him.
