The K9 Unit was a group of K9 Mark 2's friends formed by June Turner in 2050, as her alien activity section of the Department had jurisdiction over him. She gave Professor Alistair Gryffen responsibility for K9. The K9 Unit faced alien threats and even opposed the Department several times.
