Tara was a planet colonized by Humkans who chose to pattern their lifestyles on 19th-century customs. The Taran nobility took pride in their scientific and mechanical ignorance, leaving such matters to the 'pleasants'. The Tarans were known as master android-makers. (DW: The Androids of Tara)
