Can we continue?
The article was locked and reverted to its original form two months ago, and has been unlocked for almost a month. Can we re-enter the information and update with more (if there is anything new to report, that is) at this point?

Well, at least it doesn't have any story arc spoilers. And BBC hasn't announced any, so we're in luck.
Filming start needs to be corrected
It's been announced that filming begins on 6th January 2014, not in December, so that needs to be corrected. Presumably, since the 6th is tomorrow, an official announcement from the BBC will be issued that can be used as a source. 68.146.70.124talk to me 05:30, January 6, 2014 (UTC)
- "It's been announced"? By whom? If you give me a source, I'll add it to the page.
--SOTO ☎ 05:35, January 6, 2014 (UTC)
Today is January 6 for me. Sergent Doomy Doom, Doomy Doomy Doomy Doom-BOOM! Boooooooom...Dooooom...Doom Boom. Doom Boom. Doom Boom. ☎ 01:51, January 7, 2014 (UTC)
- All moot now as the announcements have been made. I've added the first day of filming and first Capaldi shooting day, and also the date of the readthrough (announced by the official DW Twitter feed from the BBC). 68.146.70.124talk to me 18:28, January 7, 2014 (UTC)
Trailer
I understand we can't upload videos or pictures here, and we can't use the trailer as a source because it is very vague and misleading, but can we add a prominent link to it? I think anyone coming to this page would like to see it. CloneMarshalCommanderCody ☎ 03:54, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
- There are plenty of ways people can find the link without us linking to it. Anyway, it is against Tardis:Video policy (point #6) to link to videos offsite. Shambala108 ☎ 04:09, July 18, 2014 (UTC)
Spoilers
Hey guys :)
I have redacted almost everything posted to this page. Just wanted to remind people of a very basic truth of our spoiler policy. As clearly spelled out in T:SPOIL ALLOW, spoilers are only allowed on the page itself (Series 8 (Doctor Who), and in The Howling. This page that we're currently on, Talk:Series 8 (Doctor Who 2005), is in the talk namespace, and therefore not a place where spoilers are allowed.
Procedural questions are allowed. Asking very general questions about what's allowed, that's cool, too. But if you want to discuss any real specifics about what's allowed on the page, it is generally much, much safer to go to The Howling. That's really the whole point of that namespace. Every post there will be behind a spoiler screen and thus people can decide whether they want to read it.
So a "best practice" would be to:
- Open up a Howling thread on the aspect of this article you would like edited.
- Make sure the title of the thread reveals no spoilers in itself. Choose something generic like "S8 cast list" or "Thoughts on editing the S8 page", or similar.
- Directly contact an admin (or several of us) and say, "Please go to <insert link to Howling thread>. I think series 8 should be edited along the lines I've suggested there. What do you think?"
- Remember that an admin has the right to say, "I'm sorry, the series 8 page doesn't interest me in the slightest. It's not important to me that the page is accurate until the series has actually transmitted. Please ask another admin for help."
This talk page is definitely not where you should list spoilers and then say, "Let's add this to the article". Any spoilers on this site need to be behind a spoiler screen so that users have the choice to avoid them if they wish.
Additionally, almost all of the comments I've deleted from this page today could have been answered by reading T:RUMOUR, T:OFFICIAL INFO and T:SPOIL CREW.
