David Kershaw ran a museum on Earth during the early 20th century. When he met the Eleventh Doctor in 2009, it was in financial trouble. The Doctor gave him the Great Bairn to display in the museum to help.
When interest in the Baird died down after six months, Lyttle Monsters asked if they could make models of it that could be sold in the museum's gift shop. This was all part of a plan by General Marze to acquire the Doctor's blood and find the secret of Time Lord regeneration. Marze made Kershaw draw the blood, but he mixed some of his own in with it, thus causing Marze to age to death. He also helped the Doctor stop the Vampire Warrior clones that Marze had created from the Bairn. (PROSE: Snowfall)
