Amtor was the Venusians' flying city in the far future. As the surface of Venus was originally uninhabitable, the Venusians lived in the air instead. It was suspended by gas bags and had oxygen factories. It had a palace room, laboratories and a zoo. When Vepaja went to war with the Venusians, it created a storm which destroyed two of the gas bags, causing it to crash to the forest below. (AUDIO: Voyage to Venus)
Behind the scenes
- Amtor was named after Edgar Rice Burroughs' name for Venus.[source needed]
- In the original script, there was more information on Amtor, including baby farms. However, this was removed from the final version for timing reasons. (AUDIO: Voyage to Venus: Interviews)
