Fey Truscott-Sade was an undercover agent for the British government in 1939, and saved the Doctor by managing to pilot the Doctor's TARDIS back to Gallifrey, where he was healed of a rare virus. The Doctor was suspicious of this, however, and it emerged that Fey was under the control of a secret Time Lord sect called the Elysians. Shayde, an amalgam creature created by the Gallifreyan Matrix and an old friend of the Doctor, foiled this attempt and made a plan with the Doctor to expose the Elysians.
Throughout the Doctor's following adventures, this plan came into use, and it is discovered that Shayde must fight against the Pariah, an immensely powerful version of himself. Shayde lost, and was about to die when Fey invited him to merge with her body, so giving Fey Shayde's powers. She then left the Doctor and Izzy Sinclair, calling herself Feyde, as she and Shayde needed to get used to their new arrangement.
Over the course of thier unison, Fey and Shayde began to develop a close love/hate relationship, sharing things about themselves to the other, but often vigerously disputing the use of thier power to influence history. Fey resented that Shayde's loyalty to Rassilon was unwavering and that he has seemingly little sense of individuality, yet has proven otherwise in the past. These traits largely imply that she is in love with Shayde, but cannot admit this to herself or her partner.
When Izzy was placed in the body of Destrii and abducted by Destrii's people to rule over them again on the planet of Oblivion, Fey was summoned by The Doctor to help him, as well as the real Destrii, track down Izzy and restore her to her own body. After Izzy was sucessfully reintergrated with her own body, Fey encouraged her to embrace her true sexuality, which she had suspected for some time, and gave her a passionate kiss. Despite this, it is laregly assumed that Fey is bi-sexual, enabling her to have liberated relationships.
