Clive Aubrey was one of Professor Bernice Summerfield's archaeology students.

He recalled that one night he was sitting in his underpants trying to convince Benny that just for a moment a planet appeared in the skies of the planet Heaven. The following day, even he wasn't sure. (PROSE: Prelude Love and War, AUDIO: Love and War)

He was excavating the arch on the Heaven when he discovered a doorway beneath it. Benny jokingly called the door "the Clive Aubrey Door" after him. Clive delivered a letter from Ace to the Seventh Doctor two hours after Ace left to catch up with Jan. (PROSE: Love and War, AUDIO: Love and War)

Clive had a dear friend who committed suicide by hanging himself. Bernice saw the look on his face when he heard the news and thought it was the most frightening thing she'd ever seen. Years later, when Guy de Carnac was killed, she found that she could now make that face too. (PROSE: Human Nature)
