Ned Buntline was an American journalist active in the late 19th century. He wrote the life stories of several notorious Old West gunfighters, and claimed to be the one who made Buffalo Bill Cody famous.
On 10 November 1887, Buntline travelled to Glenwood Springs, Colorado to get the real story of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral from Doc Holliday, who was dying of tuberculosis at the sanatorium there. Shortly before Holliday died, he gave Buntline a detailed account of an aspect of the gunfight which was not generally recorded in the history books, involving another Doctor. (PROSE: The Gunfighters)
