In some instances pages on the TARDIS Index File - Doctor Who Wiki are protected by Admins to prevent restrict editing or moving of the page.

These levels of protection fall into three categories:

  • Semi-protection
  • Semi-protection disables editing for anonymous (aka IP editors) or not logged in users. Only logged in users may edit articles with a Template:Semi-protect banner.
  • Full protection
  • Full protection prevents all users from editing an article or page, this is only added to some base level elements of the wiki to prevent modification that is integral to the smooth running of the wikia.
  • Creation protection
  • This is a prevents a previously deleted article from being created.

Why does X page have protection on it?

Certain pages may be protected to prevent vandalism or unhelpful content being added to the page.

Pages may also be semi-protected to maintain a consistent quality of a page, this usually applies to pages that have a high rumour count on them, semi-protection ensures that random rumours are not added without proper citation.
