Behind the scenes

Writer Nick Briggs includes a passage where Rose notices that the Doctor's tongue is slightly stuck to the ice, prompting the Doctor to say, "I'm a bit out of practice with Sky Rays." This is a sly reference to the Sky Ray promotion of the late 1960s involving the Second Doctor.
