Ian Atkins is a prose and audio writer. Since the unfortunate death of Paul Spragg in May 2014, he is also Producer's Assistant at Big Finish Productions. So far, he has written three Short Trips stories.

In 2014 he became range producer on Big Finish's Subscriber Short Trips range, and this was followed in 2015 by taking over from producer David Richardson on their Doctor Who - The Companion Chronicles range starting with Martin Day's The Sleeping Blood, and from producer Michael Stevens on the Doctor Who - Monthly Short Trips range starting with Jenny T Colgan's Gardens of the Dead
